Storage Rainham Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Storage Rainham in respect of our financial year ending 31 December. It sets out the steps we have taken, and will continue to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not present in our business operations or supply chains.
Storage Rainham recognises that modern slavery is a severe violation of fundamental human rights. It includes slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labour, debt bondage, and human trafficking. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Rainham operates a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept any form of exploitation within our business or by any party with which we work. This policy is endorsed by senior management and is integrated into our business values and decision-making processes.
All employees, contractors, and suppliers are expected to uphold this zero-tolerance stance. Any breach of this commitment is treated seriously and may result in the termination of employment or business relationships, as appropriate.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Storage Rainham provides storage solutions and related services. Our supply chain includes providers of construction, maintenance, security, cleaning, equipment, and various professional services. We recognise that certain areas of our supply chain, such as labour-intensive services and internationally sourced materials, may carry a higher risk of modern slavery.
We are committed to improving our understanding of these risks and to working only with suppliers who share our ethical standards.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We expect all suppliers and contractors to comply with applicable laws relating to employment, labour standards, and human rights, including legislation on modern slavery and human trafficking. Our procurement processes increasingly incorporate checks to assess the ethical standards and labour practices of potential and existing suppliers.
Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits or request evidence of their own modern slavery policies and due diligence. These audits may include site visits, document reviews, and discussions with management and, where feasible, with workers. If concerns are identified, we will work with the supplier to address them within a reasonable timeframe. Where issues are serious or remain unresolved, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Training and Awareness
Storage Rainham is committed to raising awareness of modern slavery risks among our staff. Managers and employees involved in procurement, facilities, and contractor management receive guidance to help them identify indicators of modern slavery and to understand our reporting procedures.
We aim to ensure that colleagues understand their responsibilities and feel confident to challenge practices that appear inconsistent with our values or legal obligations.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
We encourage employees, contractors, suppliers, and any other stakeholders to report concerns about modern slavery or unethical behaviour within our operations or supply chain. Concerns may include suspected forced labour, unsafe or degrading working conditions, withholding of identity documents, or any form of coercion or exploitation.
Reports can be made through established internal reporting channels or raised directly with line managers or senior management. We will treat all concerns seriously and sensitively and, where reasonably possible, we will protect the confidentiality of individuals who raise concerns in good faith. We do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against anyone who reports an issue or participates in an investigation.
Governance, Monitoring, and Annual Review
Responsibility for our modern slavery approach rests with senior management, who oversee its implementation and review its effectiveness. We regularly monitor our procedures, supplier relationships, and training programmes to identify areas for improvement.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least annually to ensure it remains accurate, relevant, and aligned with evolving best practice and legal requirements. As part of the annual review, we will consider our risk assessments, due diligence outcomes, and any incidents or concerns raised. We are committed to continual improvement and to strengthening our controls where new risks are identified.
By publishing this statement, Storage Rainham reaffirms its commitment to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and supply chains.
